Effective Date: June 3, 2026 · Last Updated: June 3, 2026

Overview

PurityIQ is built on a principle of radical transparency — including about how we handle your data. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and what we do not do with it.

Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Email address (if you create an account or contact support).
  • Payment information (processed entirely by Apple; we never see your card details).

Information collected automatically

  • Barcode scan queries (to return search results; not stored to your identity).
  • App crash reports and diagnostic data (via Apple's standard crash reporting).
  • General app usage analytics (feature usage, session length) via Apple's App Analytics — aggregated only.
  • Device type and iOS version (for compatibility purposes).

What we do NOT collect

  • Your precise location.
  • Your contacts, camera roll, or any data outside the App.
  • Any information about the specific foods you eat or your dietary patterns linked to your identity.
  • Any data sold to or shared with advertisers.

How we use your information

We use collected data solely to:

  • Deliver barcode scan results and App functionality.
  • Maintain and improve App performance.
  • Respond to support requests.
  • Fulfill subscription management (via Apple).
  • Send transactional communications (subscription confirmations, material policy updates).

We do not use your data for targeted advertising. We do not build user profiles for sale. We do not use AI to infer personal characteristics from your usage.

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Apple App Store: for subscription and payment processing.
  • Crash analytics providers: aggregated, anonymized diagnostic data only.
  • Legal compliance: if required by valid legal process, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users.

Data retention

We retain account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
